Master Sergeant Huey P. Gauthier
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Master Sergeant Huey P. Gauthier is a vocalist with the United States Air Force Liberty Pops. Sergeant Gauthier attended McKinley Senior High School and graduated in 1976. He then attended Southern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Theatre Education in 1979. He is currently continuing his graduate studies through Louisiana State University.
In August 1981, Master Sergeant Gauthier enlisted in the United States Air Force. His tours of duty include Vandenberg AFB, CA; Lowry AFB, CO; Pensacola Naval Air Station, FL; and Incirlik AB, Turkey. Sergeant Gauthier joined the United States Air Force Band of Liberty, Hanscom AFB, MA in July 1999, bringing with him a wealth of entertaining expertise. This experience includes three tours with the United States Air Force performing group Tops In Blue as well as three first place awards at the United States Air Force Worldwide Talent Competition. Aside from his performing duties, he has served as Publicity Representative, Operations Manager for New Horizon and currently serves as Unit Fitness Monitor.
His military awards and decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Joint Achievement Award, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Award with four Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Small Arms Expert Ribbon. He also has attended the Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Leadership Academy.
Technical Sergeant Bryan P. Bishop
A 1986 graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School, Sergeant Bishop entered the Air Force in June of 1987. After completing Basic Military Training, he was assigned to the Air Force Band of New England, Pease AFB, New Hampshire. In 1990, he was assigned to the United States Air Force Band of Liberty, Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts. Four years later, Sergeant Bishop took a hiatus from performing to serve as an Air Force Recruiter for the Metro west Boston area. During his two years as a recruiter, he was recognized several times for outstanding professionalism and tireless dedication to duty.
Sergeant Bishop returned to the United States Air Force Band of Liberty in January of 1996. He is currently a featured vocalist for the Liberty Pops. In addition to his performing duties, Sergeant Bishop serves as Band Lighting Engineer, Chief of the Staging Crew, and Human Resources Coordinator.
He is currently attending Northeastern University and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. He is an active member of the Air Force Association and the Air Force Sergeants Association. He is also Minister of Youth and Music for the Ballardvale United Church in Andover, Massachusetts.
His military awards and decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the National Defense Service Medal. Sergeant Bishop was named the 1996 Air Force Band Career Field Noncommissioned Officer of the Year in an award ceremony hosted by the Secretary of the Air Force, Dr. Sheila Widnall.
