Band of Liberty Welcomes
Jazz Artists Greg Hopkins and Rick Culver

On October 28, the United States Air Force Band of Liberty had the honor of working with two renowned jazz artists. Composer and trumpeter Greg Hopkins and trombonist Rick Culver came to Hanscom Air Force Base to conduct a clinic with the Ambassadors jazz ensemble.

Hopkins rehearsed the group on several numbers, including a few of his own original compositions. As he conducted the band, Culver “sat in” on trombone and gave suggestions to the ensemble. The clinicians helped the Ambassadors fine-tune their ensemble sound, and provided many stories from their days “on the road” with some of the most famous names in big band jazz.
