Colonial Brass

The Colonial Brass features talented musicians with extensive experience in civilian and military bands and orchestras throughout the United States and abroad. The ensemble utilizes a wide variety of music to entertain audiences of all ages. They have appeared at prestigious venues such as Tanglewood, MENC (Music Educators National Conference), and the New York Brass Conference. The creativity and professionalism of the Colonial Brass inspires audiences wherever they perform.

Personnel

A native of Lindstrom, Minnesota, Master Sergeant David Arnold is a trumpet player in the United States Air Force Liberty Pops, Colonial Brass and Ceremonial Band. Sergeant Arnold graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1979. He then continued his studies at Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Enlisting into the United States Air Force in May 1982, Sergeant Arnold received his first assignment with the Air Force Band of New England, Pease AFB, New Hampshire. After the closure of Pease AFB in 1990, he was reassigned to the United States Band of Liberty, Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts. Five years later, he joined the United States Air Forces in Europe Band, Einsiedlerhof AS, Germany. In August 1998, Sergeant Arnold returned to Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts for a second assignment with the United States Air Force Band of Liberty.       

A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Technical Sergeant Lawrence Price (Noncommissioned Officer-In-Charge) is a hornist with the United States Air Force Liberty Pops, Colonial Brass and Ceremonial Band. Sergeant Price graduated from Walter Johnson High School in 1978. He continued his education at Wichita State University, The Juilliard School and Queens College. He received his Bachelor of Music Performance Degree in 1983 and Master of Music Performance Degree in 1984 from the Juilliard School. He has performed with the South Dakota Symphony and Eroica Brass. His teachers include Sam Ramsay, Nicholas Smith, Daniel Carter and James Chambers. Sergeant Price joined the United States Air Force in May of 1989. 

Originally from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Airman First Class Laura Kluga, plays trumpet in the United States Air Force Liberty Pops, Colonial Brass and Ceremonial Band. She attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, Potsdam NY, earning a Bachelor of Music Education. She earned a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Florida State University. In addition to various college ensembles, Airman Kluga's musical experiences include the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, Tallahassee Ballet Orchestra, and the Blue Lake Fine Arts International Brass Quintet. She joined the United States Air Force in October 2006.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Airman First Class Mike Mannella plays the trombone in the United States Air Force Liberty Pops, Ceremonial Band, and Colonial Brass. Airman Mannella attended the University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Trombone Performance. Airman Mannella then attended the University of Texas-Austin, where he graduated with a Master's Degree in Trombone Performance. His professional experience includes performing with the Detroit Civic Symphony, Hot Springs Music Festival, American Wind Symphony, and Michigan Chamber Brass. Airman Mannella joined the United States Air Force in October 2005. 

Senior Airman Steven Charles Skov was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. Airman Skov’s musical experience includes performing as principal tuba for the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony; Allegro-Sinfonia, in Minneapolis, Minnesota; the Chippewa Valley Symphony in Eau Claire, WI; the Contrapunctus Brass Quintet; and was a member of the prestigious 2000 Disneyland All-American College Band in Anaheim, California. His private teachers include Dr. Jerry Young, Dr. John Tesch, Doug Neil and Dr. Edward Huttlin. In November 2001, Airman Skov enlisted in the United States Air Force. 

Airman First Class Michael Correa hails from Binghamton, New York. He is a percussionist with the United States Air Force Liberty Pops, Ceremonial Band, and Colonial Brass. Airman Correa holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Performance from Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York, and a Master of Music in Performance from the Cincinatti College-Conservatory of Music, Cincinatti Ohio. His teaching experience includes: Instructor of Percussion and Music Theory, Performing Arts Institute, Kingston PA; Chairman of Music Department, Tilton School, Tilton NH; Orchestra and Wind Ensemble Director, St. Stephens and St. Agnes School, Alexandria VA. He has performed with the Binghamton Symphony, the Richmond (IN) Symphony, and the Kentucky Symphony. Airman Correa enlisted into the United States Air Force in March 2006.
