On August 17 the United States Air Force Band of Liberty made its second appearance of the summer at Boston’s City Hall Plaza. The Ambassadors jazz ensemble performed with vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway and saxophonist Sam Arlen in a program entitled Red, White, and Blues in the Night: A Centennial Celebration of Harold Arlen’s Greatest Hits.

Concertgoers were treated to several of Arlen’s best-loved compositions such as Come Rain Or Come Shine, That Old Black Magic, and If I Only Had A Brain. The Ambassadors’ rendition of the most loved song of the twentieth century, Arlen’s Over The Rainbow, provided a spectacular ending to the final concert of the 2005 Dorothy Curran Summer Concert Series at City Hall Plaza.
