Alexander Central HS Musicians Shine With
United States Air Force Liberty Pops

Master Sergeant Malcolm Ranney (Education Outreach Director), Ryan Fleming, Elizabeth Horner, Major Larry Lang (Commander, Air Force Band of Liberty), Kelly Duval, Jenna Porter, Ms. Rachel Clark (ACHS Band Director)

Four talented young musicians seized a rare opportunity on October 18 by sharing the spotlight with the United States Air Force Liberty Pops during their concert in Alexander, NY. Alexander Central High School seniors Kelly Duval, Ryan Fleming, Elizabeth Horner, and Jenna Porter performed with the Liberty Pops on John Philip Sousa’s Daughters of Texas march.

Providing outstanding student musicians valuable experience is one of the goals of the Band of Liberty’s Education Outreach program, according to its Director, trombonist MSgt Malcolm Ranney. The Band coordinates with school music educators in conjunction with Liberty Pops concert tours to give students the chance to perform with a professional music ensemble and recognize their high level of achievement.

The four musicians selected by Ms. Rachel Clark, Alexander Central High School band director, performed superbly—with only one brief rehearsal with the Liberty Pops. Congratulations Kelly, Ryan, Elizabeth and Jenna!
