General Bruce Carlson, Commander of the Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, traveled to Hanscom AFB to visit its various organizations during March 15–17. While he was at Hanscom he stopped by the United States Air Force Band of Liberty to meet personnel, get a tour of the facility and watch some of the Band’s ensembles perform.
Among the distinguished visitors accompanying General Carlson were Brigadier General Johnny Weida, Director of Intelligence and Requirements at Wright-Pat; Lieutenant General Charles L. Johnson, Commander of Hanscom’s Electronic Systems Center; ESC Vice Commander Major General Arthur Rooney; and 66th Air Base Wing Commander Colonel Timothy Ceteras.
During their stay, the visitors were briefed by Major Larry Lang, Commander of the Band of Liberty, and treated to music by the Afterburner combo, the New England Winds woodwind quintet, and the Liberty Pops. After the presentations, General Carlson thanked the band members for using the power of music to inspire the nation and its Armed Forces, and communicate Air Force excellence.
Thank you, General Carlson and DVs, for sharing your valuable time with us!
