Charlestown Navy Yard and its famous frigate, the USS Constitution, served as the backdrop for the Boston Regional World War II 60th Anniversary Commemoration on June 18th. The United States Air Force Band of Liberty’s Ambassadors, in their vintage “pinks and greens” uniforms, provided ceremonial music and Glenn Miller selections for the festivities.

The event is one of four Department of Defense WWII 60th Anniversary tributes to be presented throughout the country this summer. The Ambassadors shared the program with Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey, the USO Liberty Belles Show Troupe from New York City, and the Boston Schools Grades 4-8 All-City Choir.
