On Silver Wings compact disc

in 2007 I produced the design and packaging for On Silver Wings, a compact disc recorded by the United States Air Force Band of Liberty, stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base near Boston. The band’s active duty musicians and ensembles serve as Air Force goodwill ambassadors in over 400 performances each year throughout New England, New York and New Jersey.

The CD commemorated the 60th Anniversary of the Air Force in 2007. The project’s musicians, composers and concert band repertoire showcased not only musical excellence but also a diversity of culture, ethnicity and gender. The design objective for OSW was to accentuate the Air Force’s proud tradition of excellence and longstanding commitment to diversity. This was accomplished via chrome font treatments, a legacy logo/modern fighter jet montage on the cover, and the coupling of historical photos of various Air Force luminaries and technologies in the booklet with detailed program notes.
